| 52724 | 2002-06-06 07:39:00 | Well I have been using Slingshot for ages and at $15 a month for unlimited dialup I think it's bloody marvelous! They don't have a help desk and the only thing that annoys me is that if they are having problems and I can't get my email they don't bother to put it on their website and then you have to use their 0900 number just to find out that it's not you, but them thats having problems,other than that they are cheaper than Xtra and seem a lot faster too. |

| 52725 | 2002-06-07 03:36:00 | Well i am with xtra,dial-up, live rural and have found them choice! I expected really bad connections etc.. when we first got on cause of all the tales of woe etc..However in saying this our phone line was believe it or not still an overhead line - not underground - and we had constant probs until eventually they deceided it was costing to much to constantly come out and repair and would be more cost efficient to put in a new underground one ! Yahoo! The timing of this was great cause it was only a month or so before we connected (internet) - so hence we never got to have the probs associated with that kind of set up. I wonder if the probs encountered by rural people are limited to ones still with overhead old line? Would be interested to know? |
