| 1278442 | 2012-06-03 05:23:00 | Well, I've had the new toy for a couple of days now, and it is definitely better than previous incarnations, but still nothing there to make me want to pay for it. I also had a weird bug/feature that I've seen reported in a couple of other forums. When I booted up, I was shown a logon for "Other User", which then proceeded to fail. I could go "back" to my logon, and that worked OK. If went to Users" in control panel, it said there was only one user - me. I suspect it is something to do with installing with a live account and then switching to a local account, as I eventually re-installed and went straight to a local account and the problem has gone away. | Tony (4941) | ||

I also haven't been finding it that bad, but still wouldn't pay for it. Now I've used it, I have five main problems I'd like M$ to fix. More metro apps!!! Particularly browsers, the metro ie is really bad! The messaging app to be more user friendly, still haven't worked out how to get it set up with google talk. I want to be able to turn it off in desktop. More consistency, I don't like having to switch between metro and desktop I also don't want to have to have a win linve account to use it. What I do like about it Takes a bit of getting used to, but metro is actually pretty nice, as are the (few) apps there are. Stable for a release preview. The desktop isn't too much unlike win7. |
