1278377 2012-05-31 03:42:00 Tough eh?.....
Give in mate. It is the easiest way.

Ken ;)

Matter resolved... Daughter said she was only joking (as if I didn't know that) and asked that I should reconsider because most of her friends will start learning to drive as soon as they are 16. Lady wife suggested that if we were considering driving lessons for a 16 year old son our reactions might be completely different. Am I being sexist or am I just an over-protective father?

Anyways, a prepaid course of professional driving lessons is to be top of the list of birthday gifts with the proviso that as soon as she passes she enrols for a defensive driving course.

Another win for estrogen over testosterone!!!:help:

1278379 2012-05-31 04:38:00 , I'm sure it won't be long before you're walking her down the isle.

Which Isle would that be, the Emerald Isle, the Isle of Man, Isle of white or Stewart Isle?

1278380 2012-05-31 08:41:00 Certainly not the isle of man.

1278381 2012-05-31 09:05:00 Never had a "professional" driving instructor.

Clapped out Jeep and the driveway got me going. After that I got my learners, restricted and going for full in a few months.

It's better to get them onto the learners early, that way they can sit on it for ages and not actually do anything. Should a circumstance arise which requires a restricted the test can be sat (and hopefully passed) and you are on your way. Otherwise you are stuck for 6 or 9 moths... what ever it is now on a learners. Same applies for restricted.

Only problem is once they get a licence they want a car :p lucky for me I had parents heading overseas so I claimed the pugget.
