| 1303363 | 2012-09-26 23:31:00 | I've posted about this before but Just modified my habits to get around the issue, I have the NB6plus4Wn previously recommended and it's rock solid for my Windows 7 and android devices, but If I indulge in heavy downloading using windows XP (especially torrents of any kind - even WoW updates) the router stops communicating and has to be reset. A very specific set of conditions but proved on two different XP machines and even worse using wireless Do you think adding the Draytek DV120 as the ADSL device and reconfiguring the Netcomm as just a wireless access point/switch is likely to work better? Sorry If this is a bit of a hijack, seems like the original question is basically already answered though :) I would go the whole hog and get the TP-link for routing duties if I still had a flatmate, but living alone I don't see any real need for gargoyle. the worst I do is watch you-tube or browse the net on one screen or possibly download something while online gaming on the other. If anything interferes with the game I just shut it down. |

I use the AM300 / DV120 in halfbridge mode / PPPoA -> PPPoE Passthrough, so I don't believe those two actual units have to suffer much load (The Gargoyle router bears the brunt of it). They just have to establish a connection and keep it up :D |
