The total cost of keeping the monarchy decreased by £3.3m (7.9%) to £38.2m during the 2009-10 financial year. Estimated return from an investment of £38.2m was £140.0m Not too shabby. I think the US wants to see a beheading or someone tossed into the tower. The US election local events are even more interesting, with front-al and back-al stabs by opponents on TV and radio. The Federal elections are nasty, but the local elections are blood soaked and downright malevolent. Entertainment value is somewhere between ZERO to 100% if you actually watch any of them. Funny sidebar: beer sales are at an all-time high. Coincidence? I think not. |

There are better ways to waste billions of dollars than on a single family of inbred knobs. At the very least the old dragon should retire before she gets as potty as her partner. and is there a problem with a bit of pomp and ceremony. |
