1278740	2012-06-02 04:02:00	Well, at some time it was considered affordable to drag this creature out of the wild, transport her to NZ and imprison her in a circus where she lacks the company of her own kind (unless she was born in NZ). But now suddenly it's $1.5M to move her overseas? How much does it cost to secure some space on a ship for an elephant and a few keepers? She may still struggle to socialise with her own kind, so there's a danger it'll be money wasted, but I don't feel we've any right to take her life simply because she's become a financial burden. Elephants are much more important than humans. There are far too many people in the world and not enough Elephants! If there are starving children in South Auckland it is because the parents don't feed them. I have 3 grandchildren in South Auckland and they are well cared for.	mzee (3324)
