| 1278394 | 2012-05-30 11:38:00 | It actually works no differently than Windows 7, just that some things are in differant places.I think that is actually my main gripe. They are in different places, for no benefit to me unless I am a touch-screen tablet user. One of the good things I thought about Windows 7 when it was released was that at last things were you expected to find them, rather than having to fossick around through many levels of dialog box or control panel option. Now, it just seems like a step backwards in useability. | Tony (4941) | ||

Not that I am averse to different ways of doing things - many of the unusual Linux variants I have no problem with at all. Time will tell. | Twelvevolts (5457) | ||

Has to be no at the moment might not even try Release Preview ,only if there is any radical change (which there not) Have preview configured at the moment to look like Win 7 (Classic Shell) and by-pass Metro but I will wait to see how diff RTM will be for Desktop |

Great big single colour tiles with really basic Icons on them seem like a rudimentary and basic GUI when compared to most of the others. At least let us use skins or themes and more attractive icons on the tiles. And I dislike how Microsoft change things apparently for the sake of change between versions, they moved things around when Vista and 7 were released also so I had to relearn how to do stuff and now they are doing it again. All well and good for new features, but when the same tasks from previous versions are achieved in totally new ways it's frustrating at first. When I first tried Metro and pushed the windows key in annoyance trying to find something I was irked that it took me back to metro. |

Unless the tablet is an x86 tablet (unlikely) I don't think you'll be getting Windows 8 on there... |

Well nothing has changed because MS always change things around for the sake of change but not improvement. So often the changes they make make it harder for someone that knows what they are doing and for those that don't they probably shouldn't be going there. |
