| 1303102 | 2012-09-24 10:45:00 | I have an Acer desktop that came preformatted with 144GB C: drive and 144GB D: drive. I have followed the disk management instruction and shrunk the D: drive but I can't extend the C: drive. Any assistance gratefully accepted. |

Personally I use third party partitioning software, sometimes MS's in built can be a bit "Awkward & Fussy" to say the least. The One I've been using lately is AOMEI (www.extend-partition.com) thats the Free edition for home use. The Video Tutorials Help, on the left hand menus, show how to do exactly what you want, easy as pie ;) |

| 1303105 | 2012-09-24 11:08:00 | You'll need to use some partition software (like the one wainuitech mentioned) to slide D over to make room for C to expand into. :) | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 1303106 | 2012-09-24 11:09:00 | OK thats the problem, there has to be a blank space after C and before D other wise C has nowhere to expand to. A very Rough Drawing of what you Need, I assume the Top one is what you have. The Bottom one is what you Need. I'd use third party software as I mentioned before (and PCUSER said -- Snap :) ), move D Sideways and the Blank will then move to after C and allow it to expand. 4286 |
