1302696 2012-09-22 05:04:00 I have a P5K Deluxe WifiAP board with a 2.93 ghz core 2 duo cpu on it.
I keep having an issue where it keeps losing the date and time info when I turn it off at the wall as I do every night.
Now before anyone says anything I have tried 3 different brands of batteries, all brand new directly off the shelf.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I dont have any spare 775 boards, and I dont have any boards with the same chipset on it.

1302698 2012-09-22 13:49:00 I had this exact problem on an old HP MB, it turned out to be the contact on the battery holder was failing to make permanent contact with the side of the battery due to lack of sufficient spring tension. Removing the battery and bending the contact inwards to increase the tension worked for a while but eventually I replaced the battery holder with one taken from a US motherboard. jinja_thom (4306)
1302699 2012-09-23 00:57:00 Be sure that the battery is right way up. THe way they mark these things it can be very ambiguous whether the plus side faces up, or faces the mobo.
It's very easy to short the batteries as well while fiddling with the fitting of it... so by the time it's in place it's practically dead.

1302700 2012-09-23 02:16:00 I have an Asus K8N that is doing the same thing. Haven't looked into the possibility of the holder being loose or having bad solder joints as of yet. Agent_24 (57)
