| 52941 | 2002-06-07 07:17:00 | i was wondering if anyone could help me, i want to transfer one cd rom from my old comp to my new one, i've managed to get the casing of the HP (ughhh they are the bitchiest covers to get off ever!) and i don't know what else to do. The other machine is a Dell and well, i don't know how to get that one out either. If you could help that would be great, or pointin me in the right direction of a cheap technician that could do it :P Thx Tones |

The 3 cables: 1 IDE ribbon cable (red strip is pin 1) might be written on CD ROM case? 1 Power cable it will fit only one way. 1 audio cable. Check case for markings. Check jumpers (little pastice with metal connectors usually at the back with the sockets) set correctly; MA master, SL slave, if it is the only device on the ribbon cable make it master if sharing with hard disk drive set it to SLAVE. Does this help. |
