| 52948 | 2002-06-07 08:35:00 | hi have had my network working for a while now and have been using sygate home network to share my internet connection. Sygate allows the client to dail up the server's internet connection so they can acess the internet. The problem is that programs like MSN messenger when disconected like to dailup the connections, that is no longer avaliable and this leads to problems(too long to document) anyway i was wondering wat everyone reckonmend for sharing their internet connections, would a proxy server be any good. The PC acting as server is on 24/7 but dont yet have a second line or dsl. Specs: 1 AMD 1Ghz, 10/100mbps NIC, win98 1 AMD K6-2 266mhz, 10/100mbps NIC, win98 1 500mhz laptop, 10/100mbp NIC, win95 and a 10/100mbps Switch the 266 is kinda bloated and slow so pls no software that is resource hungry. thanx |
