| 53224 | 2002-06-08 11:38:00 | A few weeks back I bought a new HP1200 printer. It goes OK but despite having 8MB of RAM it is very slow to spit out the first page, especially if it is a large file. Its predecessor was an HP6L (1MB) which was much faster. Current problem is that it wants to print out pages all on its own. When I switch off the computer at night it decides to spit out a single page, blank except for a couple of symbols or characters (varies) in on corner. The HP6L used to occasionally precede a requested print with one blank sheet (again with rubbish in one corner)but didn't print at switch off. A couple of nights ago I decided to run a full AV scan overnight so I set it running and headed for bed. A few minutes later I thought I heard the HP printing so went back to check and sure enough, it had printed about 15 blank pages and would have kept going until the paper tray was empty if I hadn't switched it off. Any ideas about this? Thanx Alex |

I suspect software on the computer. The printer is not likely to 'feed itself'. I'd say that 'something' is sending formfeeds to it. |
