| 53186 | 2002-06-08 08:35:00 | Hi, I have networked my main WinXP computer with a Win98 machine. They can both see each other and I can explore the 98 pc with the XP one. The problem I have is when I try to explore the XP pc from the 98 machine I get the message 'no permission to access resourse'. Any suggestions would be very appreciated as I am about to go and get a gun and show these gremlins who's boss. | Guest (0) | ||
| 53187 | 2002-06-08 12:48:00 | Lindsay, This problem may have a few solutions that have been discussed in some recent posts...I hope I remember/get them all right :) Firstly, check that the drive of the XP machine is shared (right click on the drive, then choose 'sharing' and make sure it is set to full access) Secondly, I remember in an earlier post someone suggested that you might need to log on to the 98 machine using a logon that is registered on the XP machine.
