2002-06-08 10:04:00 | just installed Viavoice millenium v7.0 went to start it up & when it came to test my Mic, no joy, I cant actually get it to register at all. I have a soundblaster live 5.1, original drivers only on Win ME, & yes, I did check that it was in the right jack... | Guest (0) | |
2002-06-08 11:11:00 | And did you also check that it hasn't been 'muted' in Windows ? (man, the number of times I've seen that..!) | Guest (0) | |
2002-06-08 11:14:00 | is it enabled in volume control? (playback & record) | Guest (0) | |

2002-06-08 11:32:00 | Ok, I checked & guess what, the mic was muted, however unmuting didnt do jack ;-) thanks though, I had a good laugh at myself for a moment | Guest (0) | |
2002-06-08 23:27:00 | just so you all know, the mic wont work still, I have tested the mic itself, karaoke sounds great <not> on my stereo, still nothing despite the unmuting on my PC | Guest (0) | |
2002-06-09 02:43:00 | Have you noted the above advice from Tweak'e, to check both the play & record settings in the volume control. I dont know about Viavoice, but in most recording & talk programs, it is best to 'mute' the mic in the play control (to avoid feedback from the pc speakers) & be sure to 'select' the mic in the record control. Have you done this? Post back if you need more details of these settings.
