| 53069 | 2002-06-07 23:40:00 | I run Pent:III, 750MHz, 20GB HD (of which 16GB is free), 128 RAM, Win98,Works Suite 2000. All programs run OK including all of WORD 2000 with the exception of Print Preview option. Word the goes into limbo land, with an hour glass pointer that goes round and round for hours and no action from CPU! Pressing ALT+CTRL+DEL reviels a white dialog box with the comment' This systemis dangerously low in resources'. Do you want to terminate word 2000? Answer yes or No or cancel and screen reverts to Desktop. Here clicking on any icon produces same message and will even not allow you to use START. This is only a recent problem, until now all has been OK. Tried scan disk/defrag/checked antivirus and all is OK.Also uninstalled/reinstalled Word 200 but no go. Would it have anything to do with recent download from MS site of MDCA_TXT.EXE Version 2.5 required to run new software? Can anyone assist with problem? Thanks in anticipation. |

Buy virus scanner, or run one of the online ones. 2. Download ad-aware and run it and get rid of all the spyware running, get it here www.wyvernworks.com 3. Then get a firewall, download.com.com Ffree%2Fznalm26gen%2Fzonalm2601.exe zonealarm is the best. 4. Uninstall any programs that you are not using or that might be running in the background (go ctrl+alt+del) and if there is a big list of programs running it may mean you have too many running. |

| 53074 | 2002-06-08 09:05:00 | Could also be a dodgy dll either in word itself or a dll (dynamic link library) from your printer. They have been known to cause out of memory msgs, even when someone has 512Mb of ram. From what i understand also reinstalling drivers for word or printers doesn't solve the problem always. though i think updated drivers fix it. |
