53465 2002-06-09 12:01:00 I have a Gigabyte GA-5AA motherboard with K62/350. It has a keyboard socket, but no PS2 port for the mouse.

I need to purchase a cable to plug it into the motherboard (www.gigabyte.com.tw). Where can I get this from? I would normally goto the DSE site, but I think this is too technical for them.

Thanks,

Bill

Dick Smith's should be able to supply you with a 9-pin serial to PS/2 adaptor. You can then plug your mouse into the COM1 or COM2 serial port on your mobo/pc

Cheers, Babe.

I'll use the com if I have to, but as the board is so small, I want to use as many of its inbuild features as poss.

53468 2002-06-09 20:35:00 I think you will need to poke around your local friendly corner computer shop through their second-hand junk boxes, if you have such a place, else if you are near to Upper Hutt, you can raid my junk box for free, have about 6.
They would normally be supplied with a newmotherboard.
Cheers.

53469 2002-06-10 01:44:00 Thanks guys, after further investigation I will go with Babe's suggestion. The com port seems to be the way to go.
