2002-06-09 08:42:00 | Using dial up I have Paradise on hold and am trying hyper.net.nz which is okay but for the same price $20 I only get 60 hrs online. I see xtra have a package with sky, phone(I have the two for one cellphone deal)and flat rate internet connection for $99,seems like good deal but how good is there internet service | Guest (0) | |
2002-06-09 08:55:00 | Just answering my own query after looking in PC search( which I should have done in the first place) and am not impressed with the remarks on Xtra's performance | Guest (0) | |
2002-06-09 09:18:00 | Have a look a few posts back at the thread i started 'is anyone actually happy with thier ISP'. There were 25 or so replies, some were xtra customers Remember paradise & xtra will get the most flak, because they have the largest customer base (i assume). If you are having shitty connections etc regually, and are using dial up, it is most likely to be somewhere between your modem, and telecon. A change of ISP's may make little differance. Check out how others are doing in your area, one ISP had lots of unhappy customers in Dunedin, but elsewhere few were complaining! What part of the country are you in?

2002-06-09 12:39:00 | hi, try www.slingshot.co.nz only 14.95 per month for unlimited access and you get a good connection speed, mine is connecting at 45bps and thats fine for a modem i think. You have to pay 3 months advance, but i dont get cut off and have to deal with stupid people on the other end of my phone. jon.

2002-06-11 22:23:00 | I typically get 53.2 on a dial up with Paradise. I still use i4free and typically get 52 on them. I have a 56 k modem by the way Chris
