| 53383 | 2002-06-09 06:47:00 | I need to copy my win98/winxp pro installation to a new 80 gig harddrive, I can copy everything using Partition magic 7 using the partition copy part of it but when it boots off the new drive it gets so far and then just stops. Do I need to re-configer xp to accept the new hdd? Surely someone must of done this already? Thanks Alvin Alvrez |

I say COPY and not CLONE (Ghost, Partition Magic), therefore you wont run into any problems like you are at the moment. | Guest (0)

Boot off your XP cd and choose repair when offered the opportunity (not using the recovery console - further on). This will reload xp and take account of your 'new' hardware - your existing programs / files will still be there. | Guest (0)
