| 53461 | 2002-06-09 10:49:00 | Can someone please tell me how to stop IE from populating the address bar window with a full line of rubbish when I mis-type a www address? It by default displays MSN search webpage. I have read the help files on this and it says I can make a different default page ie google. Click serch on the toolbar and change preference. But this is not displayed when I click search only 'find a webpage' 'Previous searches' or 'find a map' Help please this is becoming very annoying. Thanks |

You can't see that button on your PC? Alternatively you can go to this site: www.google.com and save the file as google.reg (not google_reg as it suggests) 'Save as type' text file. Then double click this file in Explorer to set Google as the default search engine in IE6. There is also a default.reg file to set it back to the defaults if you wish at www.google.com Hope this helps, Rod J. |
