| 53319 | 2002-06-09 01:40:00 | I have a D Link DFE-530TX PCI network card. I have the latest drivers for this device. It is connected to a Nokia M1122 Router which has the latest software installed. My PC is a stand-alone. I run Win 98SE, Zone Alarm pro, and have Norton System Works pro installed I am connected to the internet via the router using Jetstream (former Jetstart). The problem: After about 24-36 hours the internet connection stalls / crashes. If I restart the router it makes no difference. The M1122 reports the connection is there but I still can't access the internet. If I reboot the computer the connection is restored for the next 24 hours or so . Is the prob with the D-Link card? Any ideas would be most welcome. |

I use alcatel external ADSL router, set to assign (DHCP)addresses on the local network, never had a problem. Router is at 10.0.0.138 on local network, assigns 10.0.0.0 - onwards to devices with subset 255.255.255.0 Network cards assigned to obtain IP addresses automatically. Not a guru, but maybe worth a look? tj |

If your next lockup occurs at the expiry time for your IP lease, you are not getting another IP granted by the router. The easiest way around this would be to set a permanent IP in your TCP/IP protocol for the D-link adaptor. |
