53777 2002-06-11 05:30:00 Is there anyway of on two ide channels putting 3hard disks and 2cdrom drives (one dvd one cdr) or is the maximum you can put on a channel is two devices, is there any motherboards that support three ide channels?? Guest (0)
53778 2002-06-11 05:45:00 Each IDE port will handle a maximum of two devices. 'Raid' motherboards typically have two additional IDE ports that may be used in a non-raid (standard ide) form. This allows up to 8 IDE devices. Otherwise, you can probably get an add-in PCI card that will give you additional IDE ports (might get a squeeze finding enough interrupts though). Guest (0)

53780 2002-06-11 06:38:00 never had a problem with interupts with an ata card. the card only requires one interupt reguardless of how many devices on it. Guest (0)
