| 53748 | 2002-06-11 02:34:00 | The 'view' button has vanished on the Menu Bar of Microsoft Word 2000. Are you able to tell me how to get it back. By rolling the computer back (if that is the correct expression) to before it was lost, it does reappear, but disappears again when the computer is restarted. |

| 53749 | 2002-06-11 03:03:00 | Ian, You may have a corrupted NORMAL.DOT (this is your standard default template for creating documents within Word - ie when you click File New it is often called Blank Document) any way... A couple of things to try. You may need only one of the following suggestions... 1. In Word TOOLS CUSTOMIZE OPTIONS and untick the option Menus Show recently Used Commands First, close the Customize windows and Exit from Word. Restart Word see if that has done the trick. 2. In Word click TOOLS CUSTOMIZE TOOLBARS then for toolbar click on the RESET button which updates your current settings in the existing NORMAL.DOT. Do the reset for each of the toolbars which are Ticked and then close the Customize windows and Exit from Word. Now restart Word and see if that has done the trick. 3. You may need to create a new copy of NORMAL.DOT (if it is 'badly corrupted'). To do so (now I'm not sure what version of Windows you have so I'll do a generic thing here). Make sure you are not using Word. Search your hard-drive (usually C:) for NORMAL.DOT. When you find this file DELETE it. Now restart Word and see if that has done the trick. 4. Running out of ideas here... maybe someone else has a couple? Anyways Ian hope this or if not another postee will help. Cheers, Babe. |
