53709	2002-06-10 21:17:00	I connected up a 2nd HDD from a Compaq Presario to a new PC Co. computer as a primary slave (so I could transfer data from it to the new HDD). The system could see it as a slave in the BOIS but XP didn't show it in 'My Computer' Any help with this would be most appreciated. Cheers	Guest (0)
53710	2002-06-11 03:45:00	Depending on how old your compaq one is it was probably setup using NORMAL in the BIOS. Most BIOS now choose LBA mode if it's set on AUTO which means different hard drive parameters. If you change the Primary slave to NORMAL or LARGE depending on how the compaq one was setup it should show up in XP. Also I've come across some Compaq's that used their own Hard Drive settings which made it difficult for using the hard drive on another computer. Unless you noted the settings you couldn't change the drive over but they've stopped doing that thank god.	Guest (0)
