| 54137 | 2002-06-13 02:00:00 | Hi, previously when inserting a CD with an autorun.inf file in the root directory, the CD wuld run the app specified in autorun.inf. Now explorer simply opens a window displaying the contents of the cd (any CD even if no autorun). Windows XP. This happened all of a sudden - no obvious change made before it happened. I tried rightclicking on the drive and selecting propeerties, but the autoplay tab was missing, so no luck there either (where did it go?) Thanks in advance. G P |

When the services windows comes up scroll down to 'Shell Hardware Detection' and ensure this service is STARTED and set to AUTOMATIC. Right click on the service click properties check the Startup Type is Automatic and Start the service. Apply/Ok and exit the services windows. Should now have your tabs back. Cheers, Babe. |
