54389 2002-06-14 09:06:00 i bought a usb modem from world net and its broken after just 2 months I think it was caused by overheat or something.
now i'm thinking of getting a router, but can a router with a built-in 4 port hub allow you to share files between two computers as well as having access to internet access at the same time?

54390 2002-06-14 09:28:00 Yes.

I use an alcatel speedtouch pro router and separate hub, they do make a hub version.

It should give the same result.

The NAT addressing is good, gives a quasi firewall (inwards at least). Go for external, as that allows whichever pc is on to access the net. Internal means you need that pc on as well.

54392 2002-06-14 11:23:00 I looked round before deciding on a Nokia M1122.
And you can it set up to have all/any on Internet at same time, and/or to/from each other.
My first M1122 had a Eprom content failure, and had to be re-programmed, took a few minutes in Auckland city, under guarantee.
However...if you buy a M1122 from Dick Smith Electronics and you have trouble...they give an over the counter swap, without question.
Important:
Use a surge diverter in the mains lead to the M1122, and you won't have any troubles like I did.
I now use a UPS (uninterruptible Power Supply), to run Computer & delicate sorts of things, including the M1122.
Now any line surges etc are absorbed.... and I don't lose the Eprom data in M1122.
Cheers.
