54372 2002-06-14 06:45:00 I'm running Win98SE,IE6, with a Conexant PCI modem. Problem is, when on the net it frequently stops transfering data. Yet the details show it is still connected. It can be restarted by hitting the refresh key. How do I track down the cause? Guest (0)
54373 2002-06-14 07:31:00 What I ALWAYS did was ping the server as soon as I was connected. Make a link on the Desktop to the command:
'ping -t www.xtra.co.nz'
or to whatever site you downloading from.
Always seemed to help, plus you can track the ping times too.

54374 2002-06-14 10:24:00 That sounds a good trick.

How do you actually do it? Is it a batch file?

Can you be a bit more specific please? Ta!
