| 54366 | 2002-06-14 06:15:00 | I am running an older system (cyrix 266mmx, win98se)and have just installed dx 8.1. My system ran better with dx 7 and i would like to return to it, but apart from this minor niggle my system is stable as buggery and i would rather not have to 'reinstall windows'. Is there any way to remove/uninstall directx 8.1? | Guest (0) | ||
| 54367 | 2002-06-14 07:25:00 | I seem to recall a tool that can uninstall DirectX8.0 but it is very much a gamble whether it will succeed or not. You may very well end up reinstalling Windows in any case. I wouldn't recommend trying it unless you're really determined and prepared to reinstall Windows if it fails. DirectX seems to be so entwined into Windows core code that it is very difficult to uninstall it. Cheers, Rod. |

| 54369 | 2002-06-15 03:48:00 | Its very hard if not impossible to uninstall DirectX software . I now use GoBack which allows me to return my enire HDD back as it was up to 2 days ago on my 30 gig HDD its saved my bacon and hpours of frustration at least 20 times in the last 6 months as i always try out new software that tend to screw up my PC . |
