54568 2002-06-16 05:07:00 Whenever i visit a site, the site records my REMOTE_ADDR as being my Server Ip Address.
I thought that it would in usual circumstances, REMOTE_ADDR would be the Client Ip Address.

Now if I want to use a proxy, it still doesnt make any difference. My REMOTE_ADDR still stays the same. I want it to change when i use a proxy.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to help me?
Thanks.

54569 2002-06-16 09:55:00 I know a little about Environment Variables.

I made a program in Perl to record REMOTE_ADDR and HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR. If both IPs are the same then only the REMOTE_ADDR will be logged.

If it's reporting the server's IP then you should use HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR as this will always report the client's IP.

54570 2002-06-16 11:05:00 You are right about the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR and REMOTE_ADDR being different.

What I need to know though, is how to make REMOTE_ADDR my client ip address instead of my isp server address.
