Start/programs/accessories /system tools and then choose either disk cleanup or maintenance wizard depending on how nuch you want to clean. Use the disk cleanup for the first time you do this as you will have to choose a few options on what exactly you clean the first time and after that it will remember your choices. The maintenance wizard will run disk cleanup and then scandisk which checks things out on your hard drive and then finally defrag which puts everything away again in a nice neat order so it can find things quicker for next time. The first defrag will take a fair bit of time if you have not done one before/in a while but it is well worth it. I reccomend that you run the wizard on a regular basis just to keep things nice and tidy as it does affect your puter and the speed in which it can do things, not always noticably but it does. Another thing you need to do regular is clean out your cookies etc. Get to this by opening the tools option at the top of your Internet Explorer and then choosing Internet Options and half way down the page you will see the buttons you need. Have fun |
