1304291 2012-10-03 03:58:00 Nope that's the all famous samsung (or rather android) "lag". A friend of mine bought an S3 and I wanted to have a look, I used touchwiz on my S1 but never on my S2 and I wanted to see if they had finally improved it (they haven't it's god awful). Other than looking bad (and it's not that bad until you compare with stock ICS or JB... then you notice the difference) It is REALLY laggy, scrolling through contacts/messages was foul. Not sure if its touchwiz causing the problem or very bad ROM programming from Samsung. Either way she wanted me to put a custom ROM on, didn't even have to ask her if she wanted it fixed :D

Hi, I am new to this site.

I have a Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean on it. I have been really enjoying this since the update in July. It is buttery smooth even on a live wall paper with heavy widgets. (I use Nova Launcher and I have about 150 apps downloaded). I admit that, however, I see minor lags especially when I touch the screen after waking it up. But, after about 5 pages of scrolling it becomes very smooth.

I downloaded 'Fake iPhone Launcher' from Google Play. It is a proper launcher that provides iPhone like interface. It is really impressive. It is buttery smooth and there is no lag at all. I was really impressed when I compared mine with the iPhone launcher to iPhone 4S displayed in Telecom store in Westgate shopping mall. I actually found lags when I scrolled pages on the iPhone 4S! (I never expected this. I had always thought that iPhone 4 & 4S was superior in terms of smoothness) What a surprise!

1304292 2012-10-03 04:06:00 Sounds like you've got other things that are constantly running, coz my wifes Galaxy Nexus is flawless. Heck even my brothers i9000 is *amazing* now I've got it running Jellybean. Chilling_Silence (9)
1304293 2012-10-05 01:02:00 Had a play around with one at a telecom store today, can't say I was very impressed. Really, the longer screen looks awful. And IOS six is looking really dated, was comparing it to a S3 they also had powered up, and no contest to me - the S3 won hands down. Really, I think the iPhone could have done with a 4.3 inch screen with a 'normal' aspect ratio. Nick G (16709)
1304294 2012-10-05 03:17:00 what is the aspect ratio on the iphone 5? i thought it was 16:9
I will all ways prefer iPhones as IMO the software is 10x better then android, it's clean and simple just like a phone needs to be.

It is 16:9. Looks awful.

1304296 2012-10-05 03:57:00 16:9 Isn't that bad, the main problem is apps that don't support it. Apple's selling point is style and simplicity. Personally, if you want looks, simplicity and good software go Windows Phone. All up, every man to himself. There must be something good about it, they don't sell in millions for no reason (some would argue that... baaaa!) The Error Guy (14052)
1304297 2012-10-05 03:58:00 I still quite like my One V. :D

I had a play with a SIII the other day, and it's too big for me.

I had a play around with a note as well today, was thinking that was about right lol. On an unrelated note, why does touchwiz have such a horribly jerky unlock animation. Even on the note and GS3 it is truly awful, I honestly would expect better from a $200 phone. Say what you like about touchwiz, but I like it apart from that.

1304299 2012-10-05 04:15:00 please explain to me how 16:9 is a strange resolution? Slankydudl (16687)

Aspect ratio sorry. Just too long and narrow for me.
