1279886 2012-06-06 23:49:00 So.... why should a strangers hard drive be any safer than your own, quite apart from the cost and time involved uploading files?
I back up to 2 external hard drives. Its very unlikely that both would fail at the same time.

1279888 2012-06-07 01:49:00 Why not just upload your images to G+? Chilling_Silence (9)
1279889 2012-06-07 03:38:00 Not on G+. I wouldn't really use it. Nick G (16709)
1279890 2012-06-07 04:18:00 Who cares if you don't use it or not, it's free backup for your photos? :D Chilling_Silence (9)

1279892 2012-06-07 04:39:00 Nah resizes them to 2MP.
Otherwise look in to Picasa, it'll do them at full-res, but it costs a little...

Because it's in a different place.

Are your 2 external hard drives in the same room\building etc? - if so, they could easily both be lost at the same time in the event of burglary, fire, flood etc.

My thoughts exactly. The chance of losing both a physical and a cloud backup is lower than losing two physical backups.

1279895 2012-06-07 05:37:00 Doesn't have to be cloud, just as long as it's off-site Agent_24 (57)
