| 1279842 | 2012-06-05 23:06:00 | Light -1 degree frost with no sign of the snow that was forecast in Invercargill. Our first frost for the year. Blue sky with some cloud and little wind. I picked most of the tomatoes yesterday and took them inside. Quite unusual for tomatoes to still be growing outside this late in the year. |

| 1279843 | 2012-06-05 23:24:00 | Heavy rain overnight here in Woodend (North Canterbury, about 2-3km inland from the sea), but sometime after 5.30am it started snowing, and it is now falling steadily and there is quite a deep layer on all surfaces. I have had to go out and unburden the feijoa and lemon trees before the branches break. I understand that both Lewis and Porters Passes are closed. | John H (8) | ||
