have been able to open jpeg/jpg images slnce day one - recently had a
problem - i get a window on a blank screen with

heading in the blue strip on top - 'Microsoft Photo Editor'

in the body of the window - 'Unknown File Format'

on the left of this text is a yellow triangle with an exclamation
mark

checked ' microsoft media player' - 'winamp' - 'flashplayer' but none of
their file formats contained jpeg/jpg

deleted all then reinstalled but still no jpeg/jpg

i do have the programme photo editor - suppose it was part of the win98
o/s
but it doesn't do anything, like i've never used it

question is, how do i get media player or ? to play jpeg/jpg files?
- again

54724 2002-06-17 04:36:00 Afraid you dont use Media Player to view static files like .jpg.

You could use Internet Explorer. Right click +shift on the .jpg file, select open with, and check the box always open with this program (or words to that effect) and choose Internet Explorer from the list.

Alternatively you could use a free viewer like IrfanView which is on some of the PC World disks, or do a google search to find a download site for it.

Cheers

54725 2002-06-17 12:02:00 My favourate .jpg viewer is ACDsee, it's a great one through looking through all the .jpgs in a folder, to see which one you want. Failing that, any webbrowser will do it. Guest (0)
