54690 2002-06-16 23:20:00 I've replaced the mobo (BX chipset)with one (epox 6-vba)which now allows me to access my HDD (40G Maxtor 5400rpm)using UDMA. Unfortunately performance suffers when UDMA isselected in BIOS and sound stuttering occurs during game play. DMA is selectable through the control panel (Win ME) but wont allow it to remain selected. A CD-RW (mode 3) occupies the primary slave position. What gives? I thought UDMA would add some zip. Guest (0)

54692 2002-06-19 09:28:00 The OS when the board was changed was Win 98, it now runs Win ME. No clean install the sound card is an Asonic 8738-4C four channel full duplex PCI card. The BIOS allows the master/slave on each IDE channels to operate in seperate modes. Guest (0)
