54875 2002-06-18 00:06:00 I am having trouble with internet banking. This only occurred with ASB whose helpdesk advised that my IE 6
is corrupted in the security module.I downloaded the recommended High Encryption security patch which made no difference and I continued getting error messages that IE 6 had to close when trying to access transactions.I tryed ASB again who said to completely uninstall IE 6. Won't this problem just arise again if I follow this advise?

54876 2002-06-18 10:23:00 You don't say what OS you are using, Win 98, ME or XP. Uninstalling IE6 can be difficult at best, but I have used it without problems on ASB's Fastnet without problems. Have you checked your security settings (they may be too high) under 'Tools, Internet Options, Security'? Setting this to 'Medium' and using 'default' will safely allow most activities under IE. I have had to reinstall IE6 several times due to corrupted files. I just use a standalone copy and install over the existing files. The current issue of PC World has it on the CD. Worth a try. 54879 2002-06-18 11:14:00 Hi Mark,

Try this. Go to Add/Remove programs, IE6, it will come up with a dialog box. Choose the Repair option. It might fix the problem. Otherwise try reducing your security settings from Tools, Options, Security. Do you run a firewall? That could be interfering too.

Cheers,
Rod.
