54816 2002-06-17 11:08:00 ok.....i have a small annoying IE6 problem. the 'open in new window' dosn't work. neither does clicking on a link that opens in a new window. all i get is a blank window. however if i hit stop then refresh it works. i don't have any popup stopper programs and opera works sweet as.

according to MS site its a known problem for IE5&6. they have an unproven fix but only if i ring them ($$$$$) and they will send a new file.

Has anyone esle had this fault?

it seems to be a good excuse to keep useing opera ;-)

No, haven't had any problems(XPs IE6). You could try the obvious reinstall.

54818 2002-06-17 11:23:00 Hi,

IF M$ recognise it as a fault, then re-installing has about a 0.5% chance of working...

Why not email the money-grabbers? They can't charge you for that...

Or (DUH!) use Opera, it's better anyway...

:)

54821 2002-06-17 11:48:00 Tweak'e how about:

Opening a cmd prompt and typing: regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll
and press enter

OR when in IE hold down the SHIFT key and left click om the link.

Cheers, Babe. nocharge incurred!!

54822 2002-06-17 12:01:00 nope no go. no change. shift dosn't do anything more. still opens up with blank page which eventually times out. Guest (0)
54823 2002-06-17 13:14:00 Hi tweak'e,

I saw your post in that other place too :) Have you looked at the ActiveX progs? I had a broken one that was causing weird download problems recently. I'm running IE6 on Win98SE. ... 4 weeks since last reinstall :( and I was complaining about the possibility of another reinstall after nearly 6 months! <lol>

Cheers,
Rod.

54824 2002-06-17 20:54:00 No, I meant just a IE6 uninstall - reinstall, that should do the trick, especially in 98.

Tell us if it works.

Cheers

54825 2002-06-17 21:46:00 You're using Win 98 - the first version by any chance? And you're using the latest verison of Adaware? If so that's probably your problem, there seems to be some problem for the unlucky. Don't know of any fix at the moment. Guest (0)
