55151 2002-06-19 03:37:00 My company name is part of my company logo. I would like to use this logo on a web page. Would a search engine pick up the name from the graphic object that is the logo, or would I need to have the name as text separate from the image? Guest (0)
55152 2002-06-19 03:50:00 I doubt that they are using OCR ...

You ought to be OK if you include an ... alt='My Company Name' ... in the definition of the logo.

55153 2002-06-19 05:12:00 I doubt the search engines would pick up your company name from the image. But they would pick it up from the title tag that is keep in the header. It is usually the words that are sored in the title tag that are the first words that you can click on in a search engine. Also don't for get to use meta tags as well.

55154 2002-06-19 06:08:00 Best to have you compnay name in several places for Search Engines to pick up.

1]Your URL: mycompnay.co.nz

2] Text of the page. Near the top if possible.

3] Title tag (the tag that pust text in the title bar)

4] Meta tags: <meta description> and <meta keywords>.

There's a brief description of what you should do here:

searchnow.co.nz

But it works slightly differently for different search engines.

Check here for more detail:
