2002-06-21 05:55:00 | Sorry guys, but here is a very short list as I have only been playing a short while. 1. If you reply to a topic in a page other than 1, and then click "Go Back to topic list" you go to page 1, not the page you were on. 2. I clicked on the link in an e-mail notification, and I was directed to the thread. Welcome Graham Petrie was displayed at the top of the screen (as expected). I hit reply, entered my post, and hit post. I get the page with the thread on it, less my post! So I go back, and try preview. I get a post preview with "null" in the body. I am then directed to login (even though I apparently was when I got here). So I logged in - no worries except... 3. My settings have not been applied! In other words, I can see the thread map, and am in thread view, even though I specified flat. So, I went to settings. They are all there. So I clicked - go back to topic list. Settings are applied! Something weird is going on. 4. How is Auto logon supposed to work, it doesn't seem to. Let you know when I find more. G P

2002-06-21 06:15:00 | Hi Graham I experienced your No. 2 this afternoon but didn't realise what had happened. I thought I had accidentally clicked the wrong spot. Re Your No. 1, I think that is normal behaviour. They would have to add an extra option for return to previous page to satisfy both requirements ?:| Personally I use the browser back button to navigate short hops. 4: Auto logon may not work if you are blocking cookies, but I think Susan had some interesting experiences (on forum) for a while during the beta testing, you could ask her! | 55798 | 2002-06-21 06:51:00 | Got Auto logon to work. But found the prob with settings not being applied only occurs under auto logon, and only after replying to a post. Reading the original thread is fine. G P

2002-06-21 06:56:00 | OK to get my bug to happen, close all IE windows. Click an email notification link. Click reply on the last post. Type your post and post it. You are now logged on as guest, not yourself. Clicking on the link to the topic list keeps you as guest. Refreshing the page fixes the problem. So, it must have something to do with not going into the site via the main page. G P

2002-06-21 07:01:00 | OK, does it this way too. Accessed the site thru a link pointing to www.pressf1.co.nz. I am autologged on. Clicked on this thread. Posted above message. i am now logged on as guest. Definitely a repeatable fault. G P

2002-06-21 07:06:00 | Logging in manually doesn't apply my settings (although a check of the settings page confirms they haven't changed) a save and return applies them. I am not logged off when i reply though, so looks like two separate problems. 1. That of logging off autologged on users upon reply. 2. That of settings being saved, but not applied. Any ideas or solutions? G P

Yeah Graham i have encountered that one too, in my case its when i go preview that i get the "null" in the body? its annoying a bit cause it totally wipes out your post - Who knows early days yet i am sure it will iron itself out - apart from that i love the new F1 - well worth the wait! :D |

2002-06-21 08:57:00 | I wonder if it has anything to do with the DNS changeover at all? We thrashed this forum and I use preview all the time and the only time it has stumbled once or twice is since the forum went live. None of your other problems were reported Graham so maybe it is your settings, with your firewall or something? Obviously it's going to take a few days to settle down and then we'll see if they are bugs or not. But you're right for speaking out about them, they will want to know. Also, you're lucky if you can get here via your email notifications as I still can't. I have to use the "secret" link that we were given as testers or I wouldn't be here.

2002-06-21 10:19:00 | Is Grahams #1 a bug? It would be nice to go back to the same page # after reading a post! Thought there might also be a bug on Settings page,as I got an "OOOPS" three times! At that stage some of the options were not showing?ie;Radio buttons for Flat or? Trust things will eventually come right, after all it's not a Microsoft product Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)
