55770 2002-06-21 04:17:00 I have two drives one much larger than the other and designated D drive.

I can transfer all my Windows files to the D drive from the C drive .

I wish to make the D drive my start up drive .

How do I do that
and
do I need to transfer any other files than the Windows files from The C drive to the D drive.?

55771 2002-06-21 04:44:00 Make sure the drive you want to boot from is the master (set with a jumper on the disk) on the first IDE channel . If your old drive is on the same channel, set it as the slave .

You will need to make sure that all Windows system files (including hidden files) are copied across . Easiest way to do this is with an imaging (ghosting) program such as Norton's Ghost .

You cannot (easily) leave your apps on the old drive - your registry settings will point to the c: drive and the apps will not go .
