55418 2002-06-20 10:58:00 Hi,
Does anyone know how to make a program to run properly on every user that are not Admin ?
I got problems with some program such as ICQ 2002, scanner program (twain ui), and ADSL program (mapiicon.exe) aren't working as it suppose to or worse, doesn't run at all when executed from non-admin users.
I don't want to use "Run as" method as it require to give admin password to all users using these programs.
Please help!! =)

55419 2002-06-20 12:02:00 Have you tried making the users members of the 'Power Users' Group? This allows them to run 'legacy' applications. wuppo (41)
55420 2002-06-20 13:24:00 WinXP doesn't have poweruser option isn't it (only Admin, user & guest)?
Anyway, it will only solved ICQ problem; I'm have 2 account 1 as Admin and 1 as Poweruser (leftover settings from W2K)
For scanner & ADSL app. it is still doesn't work, its soo annoying...

55421 2002-06-20 21:08:00 XP has a power user group. To add someone to the group:

Start - Control Panel - Performance and Maintenance
Administrative Tools - Computer Management
Expand 'Local Users and Groups'
Open 'Users'
Rightclick / Properties for User to be added to Power Users
Click 'Member Of' tab, then 'Add'
Enter 'Power Users' in the Object Name Box
