| 55473 | 2002-06-20 11:57:00 | Hi all, Well the title says it all really......How the hell do I go about uninstalling the dual boot version of XP Pro, now I have tried and like, as I want to make it my main OS, but need to install a bigger HDD....... Thanks C. :o) |

| 55474 | 2002-06-21 00:55:00 | It isn't easy. There are three options. 1. Delete all folders in C:\ leaving the files in the root directory, and then using that partition for something else. Change boot.ini first so that you remove the lines relating to C:\. (Assuming of course that the OS you want to remove is on C:\). 2. Reformat, repartition, reinstall from scratch. Remember to backup first. 3. {This is untested by me} Move all files in C:\ root into your XP partition. Delete the line in boot.ini referring to the other windows install. Use partition magic or similar to make the XP partition the active boot partition. Cross your fingers and restart. Reformat, redistribute C:\. Let me know how you get on G P |
