56454 2002-06-22 09:19:00 How does one get the city of web site visitor E.ric (351)
56455 2002-06-22 09:26:00 Short of asking the visitor to leave a record of their city - you can't. The ip might give you a clue, depending on the size of the ISP. wuppo (41)
56456 2002-06-22 09:41:00 So from my web site recorder
This is mine from Auckland 203-79-102-248
Could be from Hastings 10-86-92-249

56457 2002-06-22 09:48:00 Well whatever you can decide from Paradise for the first number.
The second ip 10.86.92.249 belongs to the A class reserved numbers for private LANs - so could be duplicated in many places.

56458 2002-06-22 09:54:00 10-86-92-249. is jetstream.xtra.co.nz E.ric (351)
56459 2002-06-22 09:59:00 Are u sure that 10.86.92.249 isn't your internal connection to a modem? My jetstream ip is currently 210.86.50.2xx, but my computer returns 192.168.1.1 (my gateway i/p) wuppo (41)
56460 2002-06-22 10:00:00 Or did you mean 210.86.92.249 instead of 10.86.92.249 ? wuppo (41)
56461 2002-06-22 10:24:00 sorry the first 2 came from end of the referral web site, so it should be 10-86-92-249.

The reason I ask and I should of said earlier, I was at www.echoecho.com and it said "Welcome from Auckland New Zealand"
and it has all sorts of their web-site visitor statistics.
E.ric (351)
56462 2002-06-22 10:54:00 It's wrong at
www.echoecho.com
it says near the bottom
Happy Holidays to all our visitors from Napier, New Zealand.
E.ric (351)
56463 2002-06-22 11:32:00 Well it would be 210.86.92.249 as 10.86.92.249 gets no response.

Where as I can ping the first one.
