56425 2002-06-22 08:57:00 I have been using Windows XP Pro for the past 3 months or so. It has been working fine until recently my system started restarting on it's own. At first I thought it was coz I had too many appz running, then it started happening regularly when I connected to the internet.

I have no idea what to do, I've reinstalled XP 4 times already and it still hasn't helped and I've kept the system up to date with Windows Update as well but to no avail.

Any ideas as to what is wrong... could it possibly be a memory problem I'm only running XP with 192MB Ram with a Celeron 900Mhz processor and 32MB graphics card, would any of those hardware settings be the a problem.

Thanking you in advance

56426 2002-06-22 09:17:00 Check the event log to see if there are any errors being posted: 'Start' / 'Administrative Tools' / 'Event Viewer'

By default (I think) XP is configured to re-start if a system stop occurs. You can turn off the auto-restart in 'System Properties' (press Windows Key + Pause key together) 'Advanced' 'Startup and Recovery [Settings]'.

56428 2002-06-22 10:43:00 I was posting a bug to the bug thread. Have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how it ended up here! Another bug or half asleep? Heather P (163)
