| 56335 | 2002-06-22 05:41:00 | Hi People, Im running the Following System. AMD Athlon XP2000+ SOLTEK DRV5 M/B 512mb PC-2100 DDR RAM MAXTOR 40gb ATA-133 7200rpm HDD GAINWARD GEFORCE 4 MX 440 (GOLDEN SAMPLE) Windows XP Pro My problem is under direct 3D im only getting 75 fps no matter what resolution and colour depth etc. I've seen people with similar or less powerful systems getting 100fps or better. Im running in Direct 3D Hardware Accellerated mode. The game is version 432. Is there a console command which specifies the max framerate (such as the fps_max command in counter-strike). Thanks in advance. |

Make sure you have the latest GL drivers & latest ver. of direct X. | Stumped Badly (348) | ||
| 56338 | 2002-06-23 01:07:00 | I run amd thunderbird 1gigHTZ cpu plus gforce3 with 768 megs of ram 30 gig HDD 7200 rpm my frmaerates ae about 120 to 140 on 1080 x768 16 bit color on high detail setting it was almost as fast using a gforce 256 its your video card possibly that is your bottleneck | kiwibeat (304) | ||
| 56339 | 2002-06-23 01:19:00 | My first thought is make sure v-sync is turned off. Also make sure you have updated to the latest drivers from Nvidia,s website. By default the GL drivers are not installed in XP pro [strange uh ] but as you will use direct 3d on this game it should not affect you. Your monitor should be running at 85HZ it may be at 75HZ and with v-sync on ,it would explain the 75 fps and no faster. :) |
