56330 2002-06-22 05:26:00 Hi there, can anyone tell me what the cheapest laser printer, cost per sheet is please for a small business running win me.thanx john bendigo (549)
56331 2002-06-22 05:44:00 Thats not a straightforward question....
Do you want the cheapest price per sheet as it prints out of the box, or what it will be over some years.

Kyocera are usually cheapest per copy, but if it breaks you may be without a printer for some time as an instance.
Damage the long life drum (which is why the copy cost is cheap) and boy!

HP are not the cheapest but due to the sheer numbers are well supported and appear to be long life devices.

I have had problems with Canon when operating systems change (and yours will, believe me) which left the printer unuseable

One thing, avoid those printers at the bottom end where the drum is not replaced with a toner kit. Appear cheaper but drums cost 50% of the printer and do not last long. 2 toner packs and the drum is past its best in my experience.

I no longer look for the cheapest price per copy, as long term it can be the dearest option. If your volume is so high that the cost is significant then the type of printer you need will be quite resricted in variety anyway, and I would not be relying on Win ME!.

As an example my printer was about $1600, toner packs are $150 including drum. Last for 5,000-10,000 pages.
So paper and toner/drum cost about the same per copy.
Printer should last many years
Just bought a toner/drum on sale at $75 incidentally, so that helps.

56332 2002-06-22 05:45:00 Check out Kyocera brand lasers. They have long claimed to be the cheapest per copy, as they have a 'lifetime' ceramic drum (around 200K copies), and so only toner has to be added. Prices start at around $700 - $800 + GST. wuppo (41)
