56015 2002-06-22 03:03:00 I have been trying to download TweakUi from last months free PC World free cd. I download it OK into temp from a zip download , but then it suggests that it be loaded into the Control Panel of which I tick yes, It then tells me to put in the cd that came with the computer. I tried the cd that that came with the computer. There are 2 both recovery disc as it is a laptop with preloaded windows. This does not work so I am now stuck. Any ideas please. I have a TweakUi in my desktop which was in there when I bought it and that is in the control panel. Any help appreciated. D Bolton (447)
56016 2002-06-22 03:10:00 Please Confirm.

When you extract the file into the temp folder, you go into your temp folder, find the file and then right click it and click install??

You shouldn't have any problems with installing TweakUI if you do this.

By the way. I take it you are using Win 95/98 or ME. Win XP has a different version of Tweak

Or point it to where the tweakui files are.

56018 2002-06-22 04:08:00 Yes I am running Win 98. I have tried that. I right clicked which opened up the box which offered me "open with control panel ' or Zip. I chose open with control panel it still asks for a disc D Bolton (447)
56019 2002-06-22 04:12:00 hi

when it asks you for the disk, click browse and locate the folder that you downloaded it to. in there is the file you need and it will install. :)

56021 2002-06-22 05:14:00 hi

im glad i could help. for something that should be simple, they managed to make it very confusing :)

i just wish someone could fix both my problems in the post '2 very annoying problems!' it seems unlikely that anyone will ever solve the c drive window problem, which i've posted about several times before with no luck.
