| 55991 | 2002-06-21 20:30:00 | Recently returned to using IRC (mIRC client) for chat and file exchange. I discover I cannot download video files (either that, or I cannot download files longer than a certain length) I can upload them. I can download and upload files of other formats; though never attempted, AFAIK, any OTHER kinds of file longer than about 300K. Any ideas? Also, re IIP, a utility which claims to be able to allow you to operate IRC anonymously (as recommended in IDG's Internet magazine, earlier this year). The Getting Started guide says: specify server as localhost, port 7777. I do that, and I get "[10053] software caused connection abort". Anyone know this product. and can advise? |
