| 55904 | 2002-06-21 09:33:00 | Hi guys and gals: I have caught a virus, and its nothing to do with the cold....... I have NAV 2001 installed on my PC - with everything up do date. A close friend sent me an infected email, which NAV never picked up..... Went to the "Symantec Security Check" site and ran a scan which picked up the following: c:\Program Files\IncrediMail\Data\RunTime\Message\{C2233EF3-7C29-4ED5-BB8D-183C23A1B60C}\_IMVTemp_Show_friendscr1.scr is infected with W32.Yaha.F@mm c:\Program Files\IncrediMail\Data\RunTime\Message\{C2233EF3-7C29-4ED5-BB8D-183C23A1B60C}\_IMVTemp_Reply_friendscr1.scr is infected with W32.Yaha.F@mm c:\_RESTORE\TEMP\A0016345.CPY is infected with W32.Yaha.F@mm Next I deleted all temp files, ran my installed NAV scanner which said I had no virus infection - but for peace of mind ran the online Symantec scanner, which told me the virus was still there. What I want to know is, how do I remove this virus, and is it going to do any damage to my system? Regards, BALDY |
