| 56082 | 2002-06-28 12:01:00 | There was a bug which we've fixed and will upload the patch for on Monday. PressF1 has a filter which force wraps words over 80 characters in length to stop the pages blowing out. It does this by inserting a space. Of course, if the "word" is in fact a URL, then you've got problems. What we've done is change it so that if you format your links using the URL= tag, then it won't break a long link that is in the background, so to speak, in the HTML. If you just type the URL in to your message in full, using http:// then it will still break. But this only effects long URLs, anyhow. I've changed the help file and formatting pop-up to recommend people do proper formatting of links to avoid this. (will upload this on Monday too). We've also done the FAQ page. We'll add it into themain menu (if we can get it to fit in 800 x 600) and when you go to that page you'll just see any posts that have been tagged FAQ, ranked in order of a number the mod gives them when taggingthem as an FAQ. All these posts will still show in the normal way on the main page, but will now have a permanent "home" where folks can browse through them. |

I noticed one of my posts from the day before going live only had half of the replies with it and now someone else has mentioned that another thread is the same. Are the replies out there somewhere, or is there a limit to the number of replies that came with the original thread? Some of them might be important.... |

Special characters in the text would kill the import dead, etc etc and Jim had to do lots of work to get all the threads in. We thought we'd done it, but if you can give me some exmaples of threads (thread title, date of posting) then we can go compare them to the originals. | Biggles (121) | ||
