| 56063 | 2002-06-23 22:22:00 | OK folks - there definately seems to be one or more bugs involved here. Graham's: java.lang.NullPointerException ... WatchManagerProxy:214 looks like a bug. The Candy URLs need to be cleaned up I suspect. The "null" in posts which seems related to Preview not working looks like a clear bug too. We'll try to track em all down. Thanks for the concise probelm reports. |

That seems low, but i go to one of them (-=jm=- it seems quiet) write some pointless one sentence comment, go back to the topic list, and there is now 3 pages of new posts. | 56066 | 2002-06-24 02:47:00 | OK - we've tracked down most of these problems to a single bug - the changing url problem. Essentially, once you are logged in, what you do occurs within a single "session". When those URLs change from pressf1.co.nz to candy.idg.co.nz that session information gtes lost. You move from one (logged in) session to a fresh session. This results in: 1] visited link colours and red dots changing 2] you appear to be logged out and get shown the "guest" message 3] pesonal settings not gettng saved and so on. We are trying to track down what is causing this problem - the URLs are not hard coded, but it is picking up different host names at various times. When we track it down it should solve these problems. |

| 56067 | 2002-06-24 04:11:00 | OK - we think we've fixed it. We haven't been able to replicate the problems of "null" in preview, apparent logging out after posting etc since the fix we did. Could all those who've had problem with: 1] "null" appearing in preview 2] URLs changing to "candy.idg.co.nz" 3] being logged out (i.e welcomed as "Guest") after posting or chnaging settings 4] Personal setting chnages not being saved ... try and see if you can still get the problems.
